Uninstalling Sophos Home on Windows PCs

You are probably aware that in order to keep your PC running smooth, all the unnecessary and unused applications should be deleted. So if you do not use Sophos Home on your Windows computer anymore, make sure to uninstall it correctly.

Please bear in mind that simply dragging the application icon to Trash will not remove the program correctly. This is why we provide you with this article which will describe the steps to uninstall Sophos Home from your Windows computer.

This uninstallation guide applies to Sophos Home Premium and Free applications for Windows

In order to uninstall Sophos Home on Windows 7, please take the following steps

1. Firstly, Navigate to Control Panel from the Start menu.
2. Go to the Programs and Features Section.
3. Locate the Sophos Home icon in the list of installed programs and double-click on it. (Keep in mind that in some cases users will be prompted with the alert to restart the system before removing Sophos Home. In this case, make sure to click the Close button and reboot the system, then take the 1-3 steps again)
4. Then, click on the Uninstall button and wait for the process to complete.
5. Finally, remove the system on the dashboard to free up the consumed device-count.

In order to uninstall Sophos Home on Windows 8 or Windows 10 PCs, follow the steps below:

1. Firstly, right-click on the Start button and go to Programs and Features.
2. Then, locate the list of installed programs, find Sophos Home icon and double-click on it. (Keep in mind that in some cases it is possible that the system will prompt the notification to restart the computer in the first place, before uninstalling Sophos Home. Please make sure to reboot your system first and then, follow the mentioned steps).
3. If all the steps are taken correctly, the uninstall window will appear. Click on the Uninstall button and wait for the process to complete.
4. Finally, remove the system on the dashboard to free up the consumed device-count.
5. Congratulations, Sophos Home should be completely removed from your Windows PC.
