Using this method, you will request your cancellation through NordVPN's live chat. You can do so in the following steps.

Step 1: Sign in to Your NordVPN Account

Just head to NordVPN's website and login to your account details, that is, the email and password you used when you were signing up with NordVPN.

Step 2: Opt-Out of Automatic Payments

After you have logged into your account, check “My Services” in the Dashboard tab. Underneath this, click on the button next to “Change Plan” as shown in the picture below. Next, select “Cancel Automatic Payments”.

Step 3: Confirm selection

Immediately after you select the “Cancel Automatic Payments” option, a pop-up window will appear. You will be required to confirm your selection by clicking “Confirm Cancellation”.

Step 4: Close after Confirmation

After you have confirmed your cancellation, another pop-up window will display you a confirmation sign. You can then click on “Close” to move on to the next step.

After closing this window, you should see the “Extend Plan” under “My Services”. It shows your cancellation of automatic payments was successful.

Step 5: Contact customer service

At this point, your automatic payments have been successfully cancelled. You will then be required to contact NordVPN's customer service either through email or through live chat. For this method, we'll be seeing how you can do this through email. However, both the email and live chat have a similar process.

Just navigate to the “Contact Us” page and select the “Email Us” option which will redirect you to your email app.

Step 6: Submit a request for your refund via email

After being redirected to your email app, send NordVPN an email explaining briefly why you want to cancel the subscription and that you want a refund. You will be replied within 30 minutes to confirm you want a cancellation. The email support team will then transfer your request to the payments department. You will get your refund within 1 to 2 working days.

Step 7: Cancel any recurring payments to NordVPN

After you have gotten your refund, ensure to cancel any recurring payments to NordVPN so that no further payment is sent from your bank account to NordVPN. 

Method 2: Cancellation Through Live Chat 

It is similar to the email cancellation method. Steps 1-4 are the same. The only difference is that you will select the “Live Chat” option instead of the “Email Us” option on the “Contact Us” page.

When you are on the live chat, explain to the team that you want to cancel your subscription, and you want a refund. It won't be a difficult chat.
