The types of Keylogger software
There are two types of Keyloggers Software and Hardware.
Software Keyloggers
Software-based keyloggers are types of keyloggers that are in the configuration of the computer application. Software keyloggers run in a background process. Legal use of keyloggers includes a use in IT organizations to troubleshoot technical issues with devices and networks. In addition, users also use keyloggers to monitor network usage without their family members or employees direct knowledge. In addition, keystroke logging is now an established research method for the study. Keyloggers also can be installed by malicious attackers in the device. Software-based keyloggers are often used to forward data to the hacker at its destination email addresses.
Hardware Keyloggers
Hardware-based keyloggers can be developed as a form of USB or different hardware devices. In most of these devices, keylogging feature is embedded at the back of the CPU and easily monitor user keystrokes. Hardware-based keyloggers do not depend upon any software being installed.
Keyloggers put any users at huge risk and leads to the privacy and financial loss
No matter if the keylogger is software or hardware-based if keystroke logging is used for malicious purposes they put users at high risk.
