EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is one of the most popular among users. It is worth to mention that it ranks near the top of the best recovery software.

Lacks some features

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is a simple but trustworthy choice.

Offering a free trial version

Could seem expensive

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard offers users a free trial version allowing to recover up to 2GB of data for free.

Test results

We tested the Data Recovery Wizard using our Windows 10 PC. The download and installation of the tool are simple and quick. Once the application was ready to go, it requires picking a scan location.

Users can choose to scan the desktop, libraries, a specific partition or an external drive. In addition, Data Recovery Wizard allows users to scan non-mounting or deleted partitions.

It is worth mentioning that the tool does not require to run a full hard drive scan first. Even if you want to, there is no option to scan the entire hard drive.

The navigation is easy, users have to simply pick a location and the Wizard will execute a quick scan, following by a deep scan.

Once the Wizard finishes the scan users can browse the list of files by file tree or simply search for wanted files. The quick scan was completed in about 2-3 seconds, while the Deep scan took about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Personally removed files will appear in the recycle bin folder, while others will be found in the folder marked as more lost files (RAW).

Recovering process is very easy, as all you have to do is simply click the checkbox next to the file name and press Recover. The file will be recovered in a selected location.

As it was mentioned before, users can choose from three version of the Recovery Tool, Data Recovery Wizard Pro and Data Recovery Wizard Pro + WinPE. Lets' check what they have inside.

The free version offers users the following:

  • Up to 2GB of an amount of data that can be recovered. The recovered data can be deleted, formatted or inaccessible due to other unknown reasons. (Users can recover 500MB instantly, while up to 2GB is only available for those who share the software on their Social Media).
  • The recovered data can be all types, including photos, documents, videos, audios, emails, compressed files, etc.
  • The tool supports PCs, laptops, digital devices, hard drives (HDD, SDD, USB, etc), storage media, server, RAID and more.
  • Recovered data can come from deleted, hidden lost or RAW partition.
  • RAW recovery allows users to recover files by scanning storage device on the deepest level.
  • Export/Import Scan results.

Data Recovery Wizard Pro includes all the mentioned features and adds Free Lifetime upgrade and free lifetime technical support. While Data Recovery Wizard Pro + WinPE includes all of the features mentioned above and also comes with bundled WinPE that allows users to boot the system in case it fails or start to crash.

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard

Customer support

EaseUS provides users with a great customer support. Pro users get a Free Lifetime customer support accessible via Live Chat during business hours. In addition, outside of business hours, users can reach customer support via email, as the company promises to get back within two hours.

The telephone support is limited to pre-sales inquiries and not tech support.

For those who prefer to look for answers themselves, EaseUS provides a very informative support webpage, that includes knowledge base, self-service options, allows users to manage orders and codes. The support page also includes products’ user guides, articles and more.

The final verdict

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is a simple and reliable recovery tool. It misses some useful features like the ability to add new recoverable file types or the ability to recover data from optical storage, but its’ offerings are still wide and some of the useful utilities are offered as separate products. The recovery process is simple, and it supports a wide range of file types. We definitely recommend this tool!
