Quick Heal Technologies is an Indian-based security vendor. The company has more than 20 years of experience in computer and network security market and is one of the global leaders in the industry. Today the company focuses on cloud-based security and advanced machine learning enabled solutions to stop various cyber threats, and malware attacks.[2]

Quick Heal Antivirus Pro Review

Quick Heal aims to provide simplified IT security management across the length and depth of devices and on multiple operating systems for consumers, businesses, and government institutions.

Quick Heal Antivirus Pro is the entry-level security package and the cheapest tier from Quick Heal. The company also offers Quick Heal Internet Security, Quick Heal Total Security, and Quick Heal Total Security Multi-Device.

Quick Heal Antivirus Pro is an antivirus system for Windows PCs. It is designed to protect Windows users against new and unknown malware threats, scan PCs without slowing it down, protect users’ inbox and while browsing the Web.

The package starts at $30 for 1 PC for a year. Users can also try it for free for 30 days.

The package requirements for Microsoft Windows OS is very low, as it can be used even on Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4), Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 / 8.1, and Windows 10.

Quick Heal Antivirus Pro about

Test results

We tested the application on our Windows 10 PC for about two weeks. The download, installation, and setup are quick and easy. The first impression was very positive as the antivirus worked smooth and quickly, without draining our system.

Antivirus protection

Quick Heal applies the same antivirus defenses for all its’ Windows packages. It combines traditional signature matching engine and heuristic monitoring. In addition, all of the detected suspicious icons are sent to the company’s cloud-based servers for further analysis.

The ingenious Quick Heal DNAScan technology combines behavioral and characteristic inspection and monitoring of unsafe programs.

We had some infected files installed on our PC. After the first scan, Quick Heal Antivirus Pro has detected them all. However, in order to provide you with the most accurate results, we also compared them to the test conducted by the independent testing lab AV-TEST.

Even though the antivirus for Windows did not participate in the latest tests by AV-TEST, the antivirus is certified by AV-TEST in 2017 and also previous years and scored from 98.8% in detection of the latest malware in real-time and 100% in detection of the widespread malware.[3] As you can see, the Quick Heal Antivirus application provides decent and trustworthy antivirus protection rates.

System-performance impact

The antivirus system has a mediocre system-performance hit. It can slow down some system processes and it uses a relatively high amount of system resources.

According to AV-TEST, Quick Heal Antivirus Pro slowed down the system by 17% while launching popular websites and 20% while installing commonly-used apps. The rates are somewhere in the middle.

Scanning performance

The full scan for us took about 30-40 minutes, which is a bit better than the market average. The scans also have a mediocre rating of the impact on a system and slow down it by almost 60%.

What we liked is that the application avoids rescanning files that have not been altered since the previous scan, which makes rescanning quicker and more accurate.

Customer support

Quick Heal offers its customers a very informative support page which includes FAQs, user manuals, support tools, virus definitions, and security utilities, Quick Heal Community and Forum. In addition, Quick Heal also provides tech support via live chat or phone. Users also can locate a partner or submit a query online.
